Worlds Away: Preview Part 1

Here is the preview to the newest story I am writing!

Cali is an ten-year-old girl with a crazy life. She has two older brothers who never seem to stop bothering her. Her mom is constantly gone at work and her dad is mostly tuning out the world, either trying to make money off of a book that could be written by a five-year-old or on his computer pretending like he has a job. Cali also secretly knows that her dad favors her brothers, and is always longing for female company. With her brilliant gold hair halfway down her back that’s almost princess-like, and her admirable style, more than once it has been mentioned to Cali that she should enter a beauty contest. But, Cali would much rather be riding a horse bareback and falling out of trees than playing any role in a beauty contest.
